No one is you and that is your power

When I was a teenager, I remember saying to my mom, “But everybody is doing it.”
I don’t remember what it was. It wasn’t anything bad. It was just that familiar pull of the crowd, and the quiet fear of being left out, of not moving with everyone else.
She looked at me and said, “Well... you are not everybody.”
At the time, that was simply her way of saying no, and it stung. It felt unfair, like I was being asked to stand alone while everyone else blended in. I didn’t yet understand what she was really offering me.
Years later, her words came back with an entirely different meaning.
“You are not everybody.”

Not as a limitation. Not as a punishment. But as a reminder of something deeply meaningful.
I was never meant to be everybody. None of us are.
There is nobody else in this huge world like you. Think about how big that is. Really let it sink in.
Out of billions of people, there has never been, and will never be, another you with your exact way of seeing, feeling, thinking, loving. Your timing, your voice, your rhythm, your perspective are entirely your own.
We are not meant to echo the same thoughts, chase the same dreams, or walk identical paths. The world doesn’t need another copy of what already exists. It needs the particular shade of color that only you bring.
A field of flowers isn’t beautiful because every bloom looks the same. It’s beautiful because each one opens in its own way, in its own time.
There is quiet courage in that. In choosing authenticity over sameness. In trusting that being different is not something to fix, but something to honor. Standing out isn’t the opposite of belonging. Sometimes, it’s the most honest way to belong to yourself.
The world will always offer templates: who to be, how to live, what to want. But there is something profoundly beautiful about choosing to be unmistakably, unapologetically you.
Because your story is your own. Your timing is your own. Your bloom is your own.
You were never meant to be everybody. You were meant to be someone the world has never seen before. 🌻
